This morning we got all our suitcases and everything in the car and checked out, then went to Toasted Mango for breakfast. (That place is a winner!) During breakfast, since today is mom’s birthday (September 7th) we gave her her gifts (which she had no clue she was getting). It was awesome! Then we got in the car and drove to our hotel in Winter Haven. Us kids had to do homework. We got to our hotel rather early, so we sat and the kids were bored, so we played video games. (I know – we’re on vacation!) Dad ordered pizza and root-beer for lunch, then mom wanted to go hiking, so we did. The entire hike was over a decked path and it wasn’t very long. Afterwards we got in the car and went to Legoland hotel for dinner, which was entirely unplanned. (We were just driving by and happened to see it.) The hotel is crazy amazing! There is Lego everywhere, a very cool play place, and a fun restaurant. At the play place, two women (one dressed as a forest ranger, the other as a princess) were making up games to play with the kids. We kind of stole the show! There was one game called London Guard where one person is the guard and tries to keep a straight face while the person standing in front tries to make him or her laugh. If they succeed, they become the guard. If they don’t, a different person tries. My brother, Ricky, was the champ! He stood there not smiling while two people, (they both had the forest ranger to help and she was hilarious) tried to get him to laugh. The only time he laughed was when Brynn, Elie, and I came up and started reciting something silly. (We were their last effort. They had invited the whole audience up to get him to laugh.) We went to the hotel restaurant for dinner. It was a buffet style type dinner. We had ice cream for dessert. The food was just so-so. The ice cream wasn’t very good. Before dinner we told our waiter it was mom’s birthday, so they brought her a cake and sang extra loud to embarrass her. Why? Because our waiter overheard mom tell Elie she didn’t want to be sung to, so she went over to one of the guys who sings quietly and told him to sing extra loud to embarrass Mom.
That’s so cool! I would love to go to a Lego Hotel.
